Man charged with forging vehicle tint permit

A MAN appeared in Court yesterday, charged with forging the permit and driving his vehicle with tinted windows to obstruct the identification of persons travelling in it.

Warren Scuttle (no address given) pleaded not guilty to the charges before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
Particulars of one offence said, last January 19, with intent to defraud, he uttered, to a police constable, one forged motor vehicle tint permit for PPP 5343, purporting to show that it was issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, knowing it to be forged.
Another charge said, the same day, the defendant drove PPP 5343 with tinted windows, thereby obstructing the identification of persons inside.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Gordon Gilhuys, for Scuttle, requested reasonable bail and it was set at $70,000.
The cases will be called, again, on February 22.
