Police not taking action against Shieldstown noise nuisance

WE, the residents of Shieldstown Settlement, West Bank Berbice want to register a most disgusting issue, noise nuisance, that is occurring daily and nightly within Shieldstown in homes, rum shops and from cars.

Reports were made to the Blairmont Police Station. The police went and warned the persons concerned but the next day the noise continued.
This is so because maybe no one was charged and put before the court. So why report? That is why people are not bothering to make reports anymore although they are being affected.
To make things worse, on weekends there is a big set at Stelling Road and two sets at Murphy Dam blasting until Monday within  hearing of the police at the station.
There are sick and old people in the area yet no one is concerned.
It is our own healthy and drunken sons and daughters who are playing loud music with “boom boom” boxes who feel that they will not get old and sick. One of them even said to take the sick and old and throw them in the river or the mad house.
Offences such as as murder, robbery, assault, stealing and road offences police are instituting charges why not on those playing loud music in their presence.
The police can bring peace if they do their job by enforcing the noise nuisance laws. Their duty is to serve and protect the citizens of your country.
Another thing is that loud music is against the law and so is an offence, yet the police is giving permission to people to play loud misic.
There are four Rural Constables and six CPG members and yet this lawlessness is continuing.
