THE Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development signed a $1M consultancy contract with Tiara’s Academy from New Amsterdam, Region 6 for the preparation and delivery of seven topical modules that are pertinent to youth development within Guyana. The contract was signed and received by Michelle Baird on behalf of the Academy.
Additionally, it involves the monitoring of community projects that will be carried out by the 30 youth leaders in their respective regions after being placed in Local Government organs. This component of the contract will end on March 1, 2014. The youth leaders are drawn from Regions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10.
This initiative is apart of the Youth Empowerment Inclusion and Reconciliation project funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and implemented by the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development. (GINA)
