Bartica Regatta set for kaleidoscopic explosion–Sonia Noel on board

THE much-anticipated Miss Bartica Regatta 2013 will be staged on March 13 at the Bartica Community Centre, and see eight stunning beauties vie for the coveted crown and title.

This year, the competition once again aims to attract girls between the ages of 16 and 25 from all ten administrative regions of Guyana.
According to the event’s planning committee, the stakes have been raised a notch higher this year, in that the ‘perks’ now stand at $1M worth in cash and prizes for the eventual winners.

Promoters have also secured the services of local fashion guru, Sonia Noel, to serve as Management Consultant during the preparations stage of the pageant, while runway phenomenon and internationally acclaimed beauty, Meleesa Payne will act as Official Trainer.
Noel told the Chronicle during a brief interview that the calibre of girls will be looked at keenly this year, so as to ensure “the best of the best” are selected to compete in the event.
Preparations are already underway to ensure that the pageant this year is produced as an event without flaws or glitches.
Last year Ava Hicks was crowned as Miss Bartica Regatta 2011, thereby keeping the title in the family, since her sister, Annece, had won it the previous year.
Events leading up to the pageant proper will include an exciting Swimsuit Showcase in the waters of the Mighty Essequibo, and paying courtesy calls on Acting Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Mr. Irfaan Ali, and the President, Mr Donald Ramotar.
A special feature to be added to the event this year will be a VIP lounge for sponsors, dignitaries and organizers. The event is promoted this year by D&C Promotions.
Auditions for the Miss Bartica Regatta 2013 are set for January 27, 2013 at the Water Chris Hotel here in the city from 10am sharp.
