CANADIAN High Commissioner to Guyana, Mr. David Devine, will deliver the keynote address and declare open the Guyana Manufacturing & Services Association (GMSA’s) one-day seminar on modern day Leadership Techniques, today, at the Regency Suites hotel on Hadfield St., Georgetown.
The seminar is being facilitated by Ms. Sandra Ann Baptiste, an internationally known Business Development and Communications Consultant, and it targets new and seasoned business professionals (managers and supervisors) who wish to learn more about cutting-edge leadership techniques in management and leadership.
The workshop is titled ‘Leadership Excellence, Inspiring and Motivating your Team for Peak Performance’.
GMSA President, Mohindra Chand, is also expected to deliver brief remarks and welcome the participating representatives from the local business community who are expected to attend.
The programme will cover the differences between Management and Leadership; how effective leaders motivate; characteristics and skills of leaders; authentic leadership and credibility; communicating effectively; and techniques for coaching and mentoring a team, among other things.
This is the second training programme that Ms. Baptiste will facilitate for the GMSA. In April 2012 she facilitated a one-day seminar, ‘Successful Exhibiting’ for representatives/owners of companies that were preparing for the 2012 Building Exposition (July) and the national GuyExpo (September/October).
