KENNARD Persaud, 25, was remanded to prison yesterday on a larceny from the person charge.

He appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded not guilty to the January 12 offence, particulars of which said, in Water Street Georgetown, he stole a gold chain valued $70,000 from Cindy Viveiro.
The virtual complainant informed the court that the jewel was retrieved after she raised an alarm but the defendant (no address given) was refused bail and will make his next court appearance on January 22.
