Construction of La Parfait Harmonie Nursery School to be completed in four weeks time – Region 3 REO

REGION Three Education Officer Donald Gajraj yesterday told the Guyana Chronicle that construction of La Parfait Harmonie Nursery School on the West Bank of Demerara would be completed within four weeks, even though the previous contractor — Champ and Sons Engineering/Shanganan Singh — who was given the job did not complete the contract awarded to him, but had abandoned the job.

Gajraj said the contractor that was next in line — Fyffe Building and Contracting Works — has been awarded the $8.2M contract to complete the school, and construction would resume very shortly.
A Kaieteur News headline appearing on page 11 of its January 8 publication declared that “Government has been complaining about limited number of private contractors it has available”, but REO Gajraj noted that it is not that there is a limited number of private contractors, but that there are still not enough of them to adequately address the volume of projects Government is desirous to undertake.
