ALLIANCE For Change (AFC) Member of the Region 2 Regional Democratic Council (RDC), Mr. Naithram has called on the Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) to improve its customer service at Anna Regina on the Essequibo Coast. Speaking at the Tuesday statutory meeting of the RDC, he said the post office is not working in the interest of the public, with regard to time.
Naithram told councillors that he visited the post office recently to purchase a $20 stamp and had to wait very long in a line before he got it and that was time-wasting .
He said other reports are that pensioners have to stand in long lines to get their pensions and several of them complained that there is no drinking water for the elderly, who must be treated properly while at the post office.
Many residents also suggested that there is need for more tellers to serve the public at the post office.
