DEXTER Davis (no address given) appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday, charged with assault and threatening behaviour. He pleaded not guilty to both charges, which stated that on January 2, he unlawfully assaulted Natoya Carter to cause her actual bodily harm and threatened her with a gun.
The virtual complainant told the court she was in a relationship with the defendant but broke it off recently.
She said, that day, she went to his home to collect her belongings and during an argument that developed, the assault took place.
The woman claimed the defendant then made the threat with his gun and she became fearful.
Carter said she told the police what transpired but the ranks did not go to the defendant’s home because they, too, were afraid but arrested him later on the road.
Given a chance to speak, Davis declared he had nothing to say.
He was ordered to post a total of $180,000 bail until February 12.
