Another Lindener Ms Renee McDonald, a former Mackenzie High School graduate, was called to the Bar to practice as an Attorney-at-Law on. December 28, 2012. Her petition for admission was presented by Attorney-at-Law, Ms Emily Dodson before the Honourable Chief Justice, Mr. Ian Chang.
In presenting the young Lindener, Ms Dodson noted that Ms McDonald hailed from the Mining Town of Linden and was a student of the Watooka Day Primary School and the Mackenzie High School.
After successfully writing her Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) at Mackenzie High School, Ms McDonald began her legal studies at the University of Guyana where she obtained a Bachelor of Law degree in 2010. She further pursued her intended career by attending the Hugh Wooding Law School I Trinidad and Tobago and obtained her Legal Education Certificate in September 2012.
In support of Ms McDonald at the presentation of her petition were her parents, Pastor Richard McDonald and Mrs. Cheryl McDonald (retired principal of Mackenzie High School), her siblings, Ophthalmologist, Dr. Rameeza McDonald; Dr. Roscoe McDonald; two younger siblings and other family members.
In acceptance of Ms McDonald’s petition, the Chief Justice encouraged her to use wisdom by applying everything she learnt over the five years of study and to work hard to improve the profession.
