JONATHAN Soodoo (no address given) appeared before Magistrate Leron Daley yesterday on charges of robbery under arms and unlawful wounding. He pleaded not guilty to the latter which said it was committed on Christmas Day when the defendant unlawfully and maliciously wounded Chandra Deo Singh, with intent to maim disfigure or cause him grievous bodily harm.
But the virtual complainant told the Court he does not wish to proceed with the case and that charge was dismissed.
However, in the other case, Soodoo is charged with having, last December 30, being together with others and armed with a gun, robbed Omesh Persaud of $30,000.
The defendant pleaded not guilty and Police Corporal Vinetta Pindar, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail, stating that the defendant has other similar cases pending.
Soodoo was remanded to prison and will make another Court appearance on January 14.
