THE management and staff of Arrowpoint Nature Resort, in Upper Demerara River, entertained 50 children from the surrounding neighbouring communities last Thursday. The young guests were treated to a sumptuous meal and other eatables and they participated in games, as part of their annual treat.
They arrived by boat at the location around 10:30 hrs and their first mission was to find Santa Claus with the gift toys.
After that, the children’s names were called and each received one while sitting on Santa’s lap. He was accompanied by Mrs. Claus and the elves.
The children were also engaged in various games, including, a dance competition, blindfolded ice cream feeding competition, musical chairs, karaoke competition and kayak racing.
After every game, the winners, a boy and a girl, were presented additional gifts.
Most of the children, who were below nine years old, spent the entire day at Arrowpoint where Resort Manager Michael Patterson was tasked with guiding them through their activities, assisted by other staffers.
Mrs. Debbie Gouveia, wife of the owner, Captain Gerry Gouveia, was on hand to oversee the programme and ensure all went well.
It was after a fun-filled day that the children departed the resort, quite satisfied and pleased.
