FARMER Trevor Augustine was refused bail yesterday when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, charged, indictably, with unlawfully and maliciously wounding his sister, Davannie Augustine. Police Corporal Seon Blackman, prosecuting, said the offence was committed on December 16 while the siblings were at a party drinking.
The Prosecutor said the accused realised that the virtual complainant was intoxicated and advised her to go home but, when she did not, he became annoyed and stabbed her several times about the body.
The injured woman had to be hospitalised and the Prosecutor objected to bail for her brother, based on the seriousness of the crime.
The case will be called, again, on March 5, 2013.
