NGO donates chairs to disabled Berbicians –to be returned upon change of recipient’s status

FIVE families with relatives incapacitated by birth defects or physical injuries were temporarily loaned wheelchairs by the St Francis Community Developers.

President of the non- governmental organization, Mr. Alex Foster, reiterated that should any recipient’s health status be improved, or should any recipient die, the chair, valued at $140,000, should be returned  to the Port Mourant, Corentyne location so that it can be awarded to someone  else.
Recipient Vanessa Ramessar,  of Number 11 Farm, Corentyne, whose five-year-old daughter Junitta Junor has been immobile for three years, expressed heartfelt thanks for the chair, which will allow her to be a better caregiver, especially  when the child has to go outdoors.
Other beneficiaries are Daphne Ceres of Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam;  Pooral Persaud of Number 54 Village, Corentyne; Permaul Ramsammy of Albion, Corentyne; and Dallas La Rose of Rose Hall Town, Corentyne.
