Jealous ex on $35,000 bail for stalking & assaulting former reputed wife & parents

HIRE car driver Ryan Adams, of Shoe Lane, New Amsterdam, was granted $35,000 bail for allegedly assaulting his estranged reputed wife and her parents so as to cause them actual bodily harm.

The defendant appeared before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo in the New Amsterdam Court and pleaded not guilty to the three charges of assault. His trial will commence on March 18, 2013.
Police Corporal Orin Joseph, prosecuting, said Nikki Lackhan has a child fathered by the defendant, but their relationship grew sour, and the virtual complainant moved on with her life.
But on November 24 last, the defendant allegedly saw the complainant in a car and followed the vehicle, blocking its path with his car, before pulling her out of the vehicle and inflicting several cuffs about her body.
Nikki Lackhan subsequently reported the incident to the Central Police Station, where the defendant also visited and apologized for his actions, resulting in the woman withdrawing the report.
However, the following day, at about 21:00hrs, Lackhan  left her 50 Nurseville home to purchase food, but on returning home at 01:00hr, the defendant, who had secreted himself in the complainant’s yard, demanded that he see his sleeping child. And when the request was denied, he grabbed her and lashed her head with a bottle. The commotion alerted her parents, Paul and Avia Lackhan, who intervened to protect their daughter from the assault, but they were cuffed and kicked.
The injured persons were taken to the New Amsterdam hospital, where they were treated by medical personnel and sent away.
