LONGSTANDING neighbours Seeta Persaud and Savitri Raj were before Magistrate Zamilla Alli at Vigilance Court on Monday, with the latter facing a charge of abusive language. It was alleged that on Tuesday, November 13, at Foulis, also on East Coast Demerara, Raj abused Persaud.
In her defence, Raj told the court, Persaud accused her of stealing her red underwear off a clothes line and using a series of foul words in the process.
She claimed she only answered back Persaud and may have used some explicit language but pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The magistrate put Raj on $5,000 bail until February 12, 2013.
