Fined for inappropriate touch, disorderly behaviour

AN Enmore man accused of indecently assaulting and behaving in a disorderly manner towards his friend, was fined $20,000 with the alternative of 12 weeks imprisonment on Monday. The penalty was imposed on Rudesh Harripersaud by Magistrate Zamilla Alli at Vigilance Court, also on East Coast Demerara.
According to Police Prosecutor Clement Roberts, on Wednesday, November 6, at Enmore, while under the influence of alcohol, the defendant touched Savitri Ramkissoon inappropriately without her permission.
The prosecutor said, when asked, by the young woman, to desist from his licentious conduct, he responded by behaving disorderly.
