POLICE are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at about 09:40hrs Sunday involving Rolly Smith, 35, of ‘BB’ Eccles, East Bank Demerara, at Genieve Variety Store, Pigeon Place, South Ruimveldt Park. Investigations have so far revealed that  Rolly Smith was in Genieve Variety Store in conversation with the proprietor when the suspect, who is known to Rolly Smith, exited a motor car with a gun in his hand and shot him in the face.
Smith was admitted to a private hospital.
