A HANDYMAN to Dr. Faith Harding appeared in court yesterday, charged with larceny from dwelling house.
In front of Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, Akeni Perry (no address given) pleaded not guilty to the charge, which said, between October 31 and November 1, he stole one gold necklace, valued $300,000, property of Dr. Harding.
Police Corporal Kerry Bostwick, prosecuting, informed the court that the defendant worked with the virtual complainant and, on October 31, the latter left her gold necklace on her vanity.
The prosecutor said, the following day, the owner discovered that jewel missing and reported it.
Police investigations revealed that the defendant was the only person who was in the house when the necklace disappeared.
Perry was granted $50,000 bail until November 30.
