CLIFF Gravesande was refused bail, on Thursday, on a break and enter and larceny charge.
Before Magistrate Leron Daley, he pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on October 18, he broke and entered his sister’s apartment and stole one laptop computer valued $97,000 and a quantity of tools worth a total of $300,000, property of Trieste Thomas.
Police Corporal Denise Booker, prosecuting, said the siblings reside in the same building but different apartments and, on the day in question, the virtual complainant secured hers and went out, leaving her two children at home.
The prosecutor said the defendant gained access to the virtual complainant’s bedroom by removing some wood from the ceiling but was seen by his nephew.
The prosecutor successfully objected to pre-trial freedom for the defendant, pointing out that he was previously convicted for a similar crime.
The case will be called, again, on November 29.
