Policeman found entertaining female fourth former

A POLICEMAN could face prosecution after he was caught entertaining a female student of Central High School at his home in Guyhoc two weeks ago.
The alarm was raised by residents of the community who alerted this publication to the incident which they said is nothing new.

They said the rank who is believed to be attached to the Tactical Services Unit (TSU) is in the habit of having young girls visit him, mostly in the absence of his mother.
On this occasion, his mother was said to be sick in hospital.

Asked the reason for the tip-off, one resident said it is disgusting that, with all the public announcements and awareness being done in the media, persons continue to hurt the future of the country by preying on the young people especially.
Another resident said he is more alarmed that it is a member of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) who is involved in such an unhealthy practice, particularly since he comes from an agency which is tasked with maintaining law and order.
When the Guyana Chronicle arrived at the policeman’s house on the day, he and the female student were standing at the back of the yard and the concerns of the community residents were put to them. The man identified himself by name and said the teen is his cousin, which she confirmed.

16 YEARS

She said she is 16 years old and verified being a fourth form student of CHS, who lives on the West Bank of Demerara with her mother.
However, the girl could not remember her aunt’s name although, according to her, everyone else calls her ‘Angie’ and that is the only name by which she knows her.
A visit to CHS the same day found teachers reluctant to state if they have a student by the name that was given to this reporter. It was only after photos, which were taken of the two at the policeman’s home were shown to the teachers, that they acknowledged the fourth former.
However, the school indicated that the student misled this reporter about her name and address and gave a wrong telephone number for her mother.
A call to the number led to the reporter being asked to put the student on the phone. It was at that stage that the girl admitted that she and the policeman are not related and that they are in a relationship.
She said she could not remember how long they have been seeing each other but assured that all they do is talk.
Following that admission, the policeman, too, confessed that they have been seeing each other for the past six months but maintained they were never intimate.
