ACTION in this year’s Berbice Cricket Board-organised Ansa McAl’s Carib Beer 12-team T20 cricket tournament will get under way tomorrow with six matches being played across the Ancient County. The teams involved are Blairmont Community Centre, West Berbice, Cotton Tree Die Hard, Bush Lot United Rising Star, Edinburgh, Bermine, Young Warriors, Police, Skeldon Community Centre, Albion Community Centre, Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets and Port Mourant Karibee Rice and they have been divided into three zones.
The three zones are Zone A (West Berbice), Zone B (New Amsterdam/Canje) and Zone C (Lower and Upper Corentyne), with the top two from each zone automatically advancing to the knock-out stage of the tournament whose first round of matches will commence at 13:30hrs tomorrow.
In Zone A, Blairmont Community Centre will host West Berbice at the same time when Cotton Tree Die Hard take on Bush Lot Rising Star at Cotton Tree. Zone B action will see Edinburgh and Bermine clash at Edinburgh, while Universal DVD Young Warriors will look to resist Police at Cumberland.
In the final round of matches for tomorrow teams from Zone C, namely Skeldon Community Centre will host Albion and RHT Gizmos and Gadgets will take on their neighbours Port Mourant Karibee Rice at Area ‘H’.
