ACIC Recreational Area officially opened

THE Anna Catherina Islamic Complex (ACIC) Recreational Area was officially declared open on Saturday last in the presence of members of the Complex, sponsors and other invited guests.President of the Complex, Hakeem Khan, at the opening ceremony stated that the establishment of this facility is a tremendous achievement of the Complex and is one that had been in the works for years.  “The establishment of this facility is unique to any other such facility elsewhere, because this is not only a play area/recreational facility, but it provides an alternative to people to come and sit in an atmosphere where their children can enjoy the facilities and they can also enjoy the evening free from the rowdiness known to be associated with weekend activities in our country, which brawls, rowdiness etc have now enveloped our Guyanese community so much so that it is seemingly part of our culture now,” he noted.
Also speaking at the opening ceremony, visiting Muslim Scholar from Canada, Shaikh Nazim Baksh commended the establishment of this recreational facility and stated his joy at seeing such a facility established within the Muslim community of Guyana. He complimented the administration of the Complex and urged the community to make full use of the facility.

Former President of the Complex, Mr. Hajji Jabar Khan, also present at the opening, expressed his pride at the continuous growth of the institution he had headed for over 20 years. He also pledged his continued support and urged everyone to treasure the facility.
