Commentary

Already APNU and AFC, by their respective proxy writers are preparing the ground to reject the findings/conclusions of the Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the Linden disturbances. Inasmuch as the inquiry is far from over, however, three star witnesses, Vanessa Kissoon, Desmond Trotman and Sharma Solomon made a mess of themselves by their untruthful evidence before the COI.

But the resort to pre-judging the outcome of the findings of the Commission, by both the APNU and AFC must be regarded as most reprehensible and disrespectful of the COI. The minimum of courtesy of awaiting the conclusions of the commission is expected, but instead the behaviour of the opposition clearly indicates that madness of the worst kind is being applied. The shameful campaign against the Home Affairs Minister is symptomatic of poor thinking and senseless convenience. Their critics thus far clearly indicate that they are leaving themselves with no alternative but to reject the official findings of the COI. Their precipitate actions in Parliament are good examples of their senseless maneuvers against the Minister of Home Affairs.
The opposition is capable of being more constructive if they will only direct their energies in becoming responsible.
The question is: will they ever?
