Larceny convict remanded pending sentence

WILSON Felix (no address given) was remanded to prison yesterday pending sentence for simple larceny.

He appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded guilty to the charge, which stated that, last May 14, he stole one BlackBerry cell phone, valued $45,000, property of Lloyd Williams.
Police Corporal Kerry Bostwick, prosecuting, said, that day, the defendant asked the virtual complainant to borrow his phone to make a call but went away with the instrument.
The Prosecutor said, on October 30, Williams saw the defendant at Bourda Market and asked him about the phone and the latter said he had sold it because he wanted money for transportation to the interior.
The magistrate ordered a probation report on the convict and postponed sentencing him to November 19.
