Second man charged with Lima businessman murder remanded

A SECOND man has been charged for the murder of Lima businessman/trade unionist Herman Ramnarine.

Twenty-three-year-old labourer Edward Castello known as ‘Ugly’, of La Belle Alliance, was remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Anna Regina Court, also on the Essequibo Coast, yesterday.
The father of one will make his next court appearance on November 26.
Last Monday, 30-year-old fisherman Clevelon Romeo, of Lima, as well, was remanded to prison, too, by the same magistrate, on charges of murder and break and enter and larceny.
Both prisoners are jointly charged with murdering Ramnarine during a robbery at his Lima Sea Dam home.
A post mortem, conducted by pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh, revealed that the victim died as a result of strangulation and trauma.
