Guyana stands with the people of the United States of America as the nation recovers from the devastating impact of tropical storm, Sandy, which hit many parts of the country this past week, causing untold suffering, widespread destruction of property and the tragic loss of lives.
On behalf of the Government and people of Guyana, President Donald Ramotar, in a letter to President Obama, extended heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives during the storm, as well as to those who were injured or suffered losses and destruction of property.
He, however, expressed confidence that the American people, as they have done in the past, will overcome these testing times and begin the process of recovery and reconstruction at the soonest.
