Chef refused bail;chopping victim in serious condition

A CHEF was refused bail yesterday for, allegedly, chopping another man about his body over a misunderstanding.

Deon Braithwaite (no address given) appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded not guilty to the charge of attempted murder.
Particulars of the offence said, on October 29, the defendant unlawfully and maliciously wounded Safraze Danny with intent to kill him.
Police Sergeant Winneth Hubbard, prosecuting, said the two men had a disagreement and, later that day, the virtual complainant was at home sleeping when the defendant entered his house and dealt him several chops about his body.
The prosecutor said Danny was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he remains a patient in a serious condition.
The defendant was remanded to prison and the case will be called, again, on November 9.
