TREVOR Wayne (no address given) appeared in court yesterday, charged with larceny from the person. Before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell, he pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on October 19, he stole one gold band valued $500,000 from Shaneeza Baraka.
Police Corporal Kerry Bostwick, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant was walking in Regent Street, Georgetown, when the defendant snatched her jewel and was seen handing it to another person who ran away.
The prosecutor had no objection to bail but requested that it be substantial and the amount was set at $75,000.
The case will be called, again, on November 6.
