Phones larceny case to be called, again, today

EON Spooner (no address given) appeared before Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty on a simple larceny charge yesterday.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, last October 1, in Brickdam, Georgetown, he stole two cell phones valued $170,000 property of Marisha Bowen.
At the request of defence counsel Paul Fung-a-Fat, who asked that a reasonable sum be set, the defendant was granted $75,000 until today.
The lawyer said the police should have charged Spooner with receiving stolen articles because the latter bought the phones from someone and has a receipt.
Fung-a-Fat maintained there is no evidence to show that Spooner had stolen the phones.
