Boggles the mind how easily security guards are overcome

IT boggles the mind how easily security guards are overcome in Guyana. Five masked gunmen reportedly tied up three security guards with shoe laces before carting off millions in cash from Western Union.

These robbers were able to break in, without alarming the guards. Hopefully, there were cameras placed strategically to show where they came in and where the three guards were and what they were doing at that time. Inside jobs are the first thought for the police.
It is time for the Chamber of Commerce and business people to wake up to the fact that if there is something to steal, someone is planning to do it. So why not come together and plan security measures to help  prevent these crimes? Self help starts with where guards and quality cameras are placed, how monies are transported, the keeping of large sums on premises, marking property, better precautions taken in opening and closing businesses.
Neighbourhood businesses should watch out for each other and have ways of sounding an alarm. Cell phones can be used to dial 911 with the push of a button. Other security devices can be helpful. A survey of any business can show where the easiest entry point is. Finally, hire better trained guards and monitor their practices.
