Duo remanded to prison on narcotics charge

MICHAEL and Bonny Budhu (no addresses given) appeared yesterday before Georgetown Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton jointly charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. The allegation is that, on August 26 at Pineapple Street, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, the two were discovered with 305 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Represented by Attorney-at-Law Paul Fung-a-Fat, they both pleaded not guilty to the charge. Their counsel declined to apply for bail, but asked for a very early trial date.
They were both remanded to prison, and will make another appearance in court on October 3.
