HATS off to the media houses that are reporting objectively

HATS off to the media houses that are reporting objectively, in the spirit of true journalism and in the interest of the development of sports in Guyana! However, it is imperative that I respond to the ‘gutter’ journalism in the Kaieteur ‘rag’ of last Tuesday, August 21, 2012 under the caption ‘Yassin exposes Kumar’.
According to the Kaieteur News, Juman-Yassin returned from yet another of his honeymoon voyages and instead of reporting honestly to this nation on the London Olympics, embarrassment forced him to confine his press conference to ridiculing the Director of Sport.
My grandmother told us, ‘You must not call sickness on yourself.’
“People have eyes to see and ears to hear while they have mouths to talk and anuses to recycle hogwash.
“Juman, are you fully aware of the millions of dollars that this government gave to the football fraternity for the development of football all around the country?  Juman, are you not fully aware of the millions of dollars our government gave to the rugby union?  Juman, are you not at all aware of the millions that the other associations received in preparation to participate at the London Olympics?
“It is unacceptable for National Associations to buy tickets for people to travel when they never travelled in preparation to qualify for the London Games.
“It cannot be denied that Guyana’s performance at the Games was embarrassing. However, you, Juman-Yassin, must speak the truth and publish the names of your entourage that went to the Commonwealth Games in India.
“Tell us how many medals you and your well-organised Travel Bureau which travelled around the world brought back to this country. Publish the names of the travelling party which went to the Commonwealth Games in India.
Juman-Yassin conveniently spoke about Boxing. I wish to challenge Juman to speak the truth about Government’s support for boxing.
The Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) is indeed very thankful for the Government’s efforts. Juman you will not get me to say what you are afraid to get “Skin-up – for.”  I will work with GABA for further success.
“I have already held meetings with GABA’s representatives and the stakeholders in boxing. Unlike you, who returned from your honeymoon and spilled hogwash at your press conference.
“The GOA, under Yassin is helpless, hopeless and rather lifeless; and is pure braggadocio! The GOA received a large plot of land from the Government and promised to build a headquarters.  Now we understand that there will be no construction of any such building for other people to “sport in”.
“I would like to draw the readers’ attention to the fact that before the formation of the National Sports Commission, the Secretary General of the GOA was the Acting Director of Sport and the President of the GOA and several other executives were all members of the National Sports Development Council. That was the time of Party Paramountcy.
The PPP/C separates itself from such immoral behaviour.
“Juman-Yassin, you were the president of GABA and you destroyed that association that was highly successful under the late Laurie Lewis.
“Yassin, you were the president of the Guyana Swimming Association and that association never won anything under your destructive leadership.
“Yassin, you were a total failure when you were the president of the Guyana Tennis Association.
“Oh! The boys at Everest said that when you were president of Everest you were a champion at the elbow-bending activities.
“Juman, let me assure you that the Chairman of the National Sports Commission is the eminent Mr. Conrad Plummer. Further, let me inform you we have a National Sport Policy.
“By the way, Juman-Yassin, the letter which you hypocritically sent to me before you left for London, seemingly with the intention of silencing me, should perhaps be used to clean up all the places where you spill hogwash.”
