LENNOX Gladstone Primo, 35, the injured mining equipment operator discharged from the Georgetown Public Hospital in a critical condition on Tuesday is dead. He died within minutes of arriving at his home, 36 Roberts Road, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, on Tuesday. After being warded at the institution for several weeks, he was discharged around 11:15hrs Tuesday. He arrived home around 11:40 hrs and died minutes later, his brother Desmond told this newspaper yesterday. His relatives are in a state of shock, and they feel betrayed by those at the institution who had led them to believe that he could have rallied through.
Relatives are asking who authorised his discharge from the hospital, but the authorities there do not seem to know.
Lennox Prrimo Primo sustained severe injuries after being struck on the head by a piece of iron that flew off of a piece of equipment he was operating at a mining camp at Imabamadai, and was rushed to the GPHC unconscious and in a critical condition. He had since remained that way, and up to the time of his discharge, was unable to move or communicate with anyone around him.
The Guyana Chronicle made several attempts to reach the administration of the Georgetown Hospital for a comment, but to no avail.
