SHARMIN Smith of Lot 279 West Ruimveldt pleaded not guilty to simple larceny on Monday before Georgetown Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton. Particulars of the charge are that on August 16, at Regent Street, Georgetown, she stole one handbag containing items totalling $22,500, property of Cecilia Merlscott.

The prosecution did not object to bail, and the defendant was placed on $15,000 bail. The matter will be called again on September 28.
