ROMANA Ramjit and Gomatie Dath, of Ogle, East Coast, Demerara and Virginia Village, Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara respectively, are locked in a fierce legal battle over ownership of an Ogle property. The plaintiff Ramjit is claiming ownership of sub-lot ‘C’ of Lot 32 Area ‘D’ Ogle, East Coast, Demerara by virtue of lease number 50 of 2012 for the unexpired term of 999 years.
The plaintiff claims she has observed a transfer of the said lot by way of execution sale at the instance of the Supreme Court on the 15th day of October 2011, and is alleging that the defendant Gomattie Dath presently occupies the said property as a trespasser, having no legal right to occupy the said property subsequent to the execution sale and transfer or lease.
Wherefore, the plaintiff claims:
(a) Possession of the property described as ‘Sub lot ‘C’, being part of Lot 32, part of Area ‘D’ Portion of Ogle, and more fully described in lease no 50 of 2012.
(b) Any such further or other orders as the court deems just.
The defendant Gomatie Dath, of Cane Grove, East Coast, Demerara, is being represented by Mr. R. N. Poonai, Attorney-at-Law.
Hearing of the matter is expected to take place on September 3, 2012.
