LEESA Thomas claims she is being abused and mistreated, and is seeking legal help and protection, but to no avail. The woman told this publication that she resides at Vigilance, East Coast Demerara, and for almost fourteen months, she has had to deal with her abusive child-father, who has made multiple attempts to kill her in her own home.
She said she has reported this matter to the police on almost all the occasions, and has been visiting the Vigilance Police Station for a number of weeks, making reports to the police who have made no attempt to help her in any way.
She said that every time she has been to the police, they have been advising her to go home and they would find her child father, as he is a “regular” in the police station.
Thomas stated that whenever she returns home, the man always finds himself in her home or in her yard hurling abuses at her and making attempts to maim or injure her if she stepped out a few days later.
The woman related that the man — Kwasie Kent, called “Rubba” — was never a person of this nature, but since he has been around bad company he has changed.
She also noted that the man has a lot of influence over a lot of the officers in the police station, for some unknown reason, and she assumes that is why her complaints are not taken seriously.
The tearful woman admitted being very scared for her life, but does not know where to turn for help, as the situation has gone completely out of control, and her attempts are being shunted everywhere she seeks assistance.
Thomas lives in Vigilance, and can be contacted on telephone number 663-1964. She is inviting help of any sort to alleviate her dire situation.
