Meeting the people at their level – IGCF arts & craft workshop a success event

OVER 30 Art and Craft producers and exhibitors gathered in the Main Street Avenue on Tuesday afternoon to attend a workshop organised by the Inter- Guiana Cultural Festival Arts & Craft committee in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism under the theme: ‘Meeting People At Their Level.‘ The attendees who were addressed by Ms. Annarie Shiwram and Natoyah Fields under the coordination of Arts & Craft Coordinator, Ms. Denzil Hollingsworth as they explained the need for the improvement in areas needed to promote their products.
Customer relations, sourcing market for export and a number of other interesting matters pertaining to the development of a successful industry were discussed as the participants shared their experience and interest.
The workshop was set as one which will see an increased in the main areas as customer relations was the top priority since in a few days the commencement of the inter Guiana Cultural festival will begin.
Attendees speaking with this newspaper indicated that this workshop was timely as the preparations for the upcoming event, these tips shared were necessary to enhance the customer relationship which was very necessary to update those present.
The Inter-Guiana Cultural Festival will see seven disciplines in exhibition by the three Guiana’s, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana from August 23-26, 2012.
Arts & Craft exhibitions and workshops will be held during with a special kid’s tent where a number of new craft skills will be demonstrate.
