She reclined, a tourist, not too far from me
On the beach chair, under the shade-giving tree
A teenager, I guess, just softly relaxing her body Listening perhaps to the language of the roaring sea
Beautiful was she, and beauty for me cannot be but a delight
Be it the morning sun or the evening sun marking the end of daylight
Be it the beauty of the day or the wonders declared by the night
Beauty I cherish, beauty I love to retain in memory if not in sight.
So I sat in silence, enjoying too the sight of my precious beloved
She, swimming and sea-playing, encouraged, by nature’s power fed
Backstroking, diving, wild in enjoyment, to the waves of the sea wed
The two joined as one, to create a unity, she, by the hands of nature led.
Before I left, I chatted in seconds with the white beauty unknown
For what is wrong in sincerely appreciating beauty to enthrone?
