FOURTEEN aspiring young women with inclusion of an overseas based Canadian Guyanese will begin their quest in becoming Guyana’s Representative at the 2012 Miss Universe pageant. The organiser, Mc Neal Enterprise, will be celebrating their 10th year in promoting the pageant which began in 2002 when Mai Rahaman won from a strong field.
Head of the promotion’s company Odinja Lumumba and Public Relations Officer, Steve Ninvalle recounted their first successful effort mentioning the number of young women who were given the opportunity in the competition for the local crown. He said their experience today have made an impact on the lives of themselves and others.
The delegates in numerical order are Demi Austin, Nikita Barker, Emani Bourne, Raquayyah Boyer, Fiona Cooke, Kenecia Christian, Onesha Hutson, Drucilla Johnson, Shaneka Jones, Faydelia King, Sharanie Latchman, Melinda Singh and Tashini Sitaram. The final delegate will be named shortly.
Mc Neal Enterprise will see on their itinerary the sashing of delegates on the August 26 at Palm Court on Main Street, the swim suit finals on September 9 at a location to be announced with the question and answer segment to be held at the National Communications Network (NCN) on September 13. The finals of the segment of the pageant will conclude on September 15 at the Princess Hotel.
The promoters have promised a special guest who would be named later.
