Nine cases dismissed after warrants not served

MAGISTRATE Adela Nagamootoo dismissed nine cases last Friday, after the police failed to serve arrest warrants on the alleged offenders. One of the warrants was issued, during the month of June, for Teshwar De Cunah, of Longsdale, East Bank Berbice, who is alleged to have assaulted Sonee Yoshadia on June 6.
Another was for fellow villager Seeram Yudharam, alleging that, on June 21, he unlawfully assaulted Kumarie Shamkit.
One more was for Patricia La Fleur, of Angoy’s Avenue, charging that she, carelessly, used her bicycle on the West Canje Public Road.
Shallwarh Grant, of Betsy Ground; Ravi Takarpersaud, of John’s, Port Mourant; Kapildeo Balgobin of Hampshire and Roderyck Baptiste, of Overwinning, East Bank Berbice, allegedly, drove their  motor vehicles, HB 2227 , PNN 6716 , HC 594  and HB 8550, respectively, without wearing seat belts.
Michael King, of Tucber Park, had, allegedly, rode motorcycle CF 8246 while a certificate of fitness was not in force.
In addition, it was alleged he did not have a policy of insurance with respect of third-party risk in relation to the use of it.
