I MAKE no apologies for not being politically correct or as eloquent as some of the writers in our newspapers. I am no expert on issues of law, etc. However, I do take umbrage with the gutter behaviour of Christopher Ram and Khemraj Ramjattan on the issue of the confirmation of Mrs. Gitanjali Singh at the office of the Auditor General. First off, people go to school, get qualified, and in the case of these individuals ‘work their way up’.
In the case of Mrs. Singh, does Ram truly believe that someone who has ‘earned their stripes’ should be denied advancement?
In this case not advancement, as Mrs. Singh has been doing this for at least the past seven years or so.
How can anyone be so low thinking to decide that this happened because an MP was missing? You’re insulting the intelligence of the electorate bannas.
Does he really believe this? Is it because he is such a bitter and lonely piece of work that he’s on the path to destroy people’s characters? Is he accusing others of what he is guilty of?
Has he and Ramjattan done their homework and found Mrs. Singh in the 20 odd years she’s been in this institution to have done anything which compromises the integrity of this institution?
Ram must be reminded of his attempts at this when the late and very esteemed Mr. Winston Murray was head of the PAC. Has the very fair Ms. Volda Lawrence found the PAC to be dissatisfied with her performance?
Is it because she’s a woman Ram/Ramjattan? Shame on you in Parliament, who have jumped on this bandwagon.
Ram should be the last person to point fingers about morality and integrity. Refer to the clouds of his as liquidator or whatever it’s called, as Auditor when he attacks companies that have rejected his advances to be their auditor.
On the point of ethics, morality and conflict of interest, Ram easily changes from his role as accountant, auditor, lawyer and supposedly without proof, spokesperson for groups, when he hides behind his status as media personality. What are you really? You have crossed the line in trying to be seen as representing civil society man.
I really thought we are in a new democracy but it seems that thanks to Ram/Ramjattan and the opposition media, freedom of speech extends only to those whose mission is character assassination.
Hail up to Mrs. Singh and those deserving of recognition.
On another note, Ram, you should be ashamed to host your talk show, called what? Straight Talk? When the topic is about Domestic Violence? Get help yourself, man. Enough said.
Guyana has so many things to get right in order to make us a better country and you choose character assassination?
I take umbrage at the ‘gutter behaviour’ of Christopher Ram and Khemraj Ramjattan
