BCB to host 5th Annual Scotiabank Academy

THE Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) would be hosting the fifth Annual Scotiabank Cricket Academy from July 23 to 28, at the Area ‘H’ Ground in Rose Hall Town. A total of ninety (90) young promising cricketers from the Under-13 to Under-19 levels including females have been invited by the Junior Selection Committee to be a part of the Academy which will be conducted by a battery of coaches including Michael Hyles Franco, Julian Moore, Floyd Benjamin and Winston Smith.
Students of the Academy would also be involved in several classroom lectures including HUV/AIDS, Peer Pressure, Drug Abuse and Public Speaking.
Chairman of the BCB/Special Events Committee Hilbert Foster is urging all the young players who have been selected to attend the Academy to do so, as the Board is making attendance compulsory and special emphasis would be placed on personal and skills development and understanding the role of a sports ambassador/role model.
