VICKRAM Ramnarine, the 39-year-old Lusignan man who was severely chopped last Monday evening, allegedly by the husband of his lover, Deoranie, called ‘Dee’, has been discharged from Georgetown Medical Centre, where he was admitted after suffering the injuries. And, surprisingly, he decided to drop the charges that were being filed against Kayman Singh for injuring him.
Speaking to the Guyana Chronicle, by telephone, Ramnarine said he realised what he did was wrong but he had his reasons for doing so.
He said Deoranie and her husband were always friendly to him and, over the past few weeks, he had been rather depressed and got carried away by the woman’s kindness.
Ramnarine said he is willing to apologise to Singh, if the latter agrees to do similarly for chopping him.
Asked about the severity of his wounds, Ramnarine said they took 134 stitches about his body and he has a broken rib but none of that is as important as making peace with the man he considers an elder brother.
