ASSAD Fudadin’s belated Test debut has not gone unnoticed, at least not by popular sports enthusiast and businessman Manniram Shew. In another of his fine gestures, Shew has decided to award $400 to the Guyana and West Indies middle-order batsman for every run scored in the current third and final Test match between England and West Indies being played at Edgbaston, England,
Should the left-handed batsman score a century in the second innings, after his first innings effort of 28 yesterday, the award will be increased to five hundred dollars per run.
The Rose Hall Town player earned his West Indian call-up after tallying 578 runs in this year’s regional four-day tournament, the second highest by any player – bettered only by compatriot Narsingh Deonarine’s 582.
He slammed two centuries, including a top-score of 108, and three fifties with an average of 48.00 runs per innings.
