JERMAINE SUMMERSET (no address given) appeared yet again before Sparendaam Magistrate Alex Moore yesterday, to answer to a robbery-under-arms charge instituted last March. He is alleged to have robbed Jennifer Chapman of $316,000 in valuables, on February 29 at Triumph Village, East Coast Demerara, whilst being armed with a gun.
The charge was laid indictably, but after a successful application of the Administration of Justice Act (AJA) by Police Prosecutor Sergeant Bernard Browne, the man was able to plead not guilty to the charge before Magistrate Moore.
Represented by his counsel, Gwendolyn Bristol, he was able to secure bail in the sum of $50,000, and the matter was adjourned to May 23 for statements.
