THE organizing committee of the Independence Day T20 tournament scheduled for the Albion Sports Complex next Saturday has released the names of the four teams that will be battling for supremacy. The teams named are the Berbice Titans, Hits and Jams Superstars, the Berbice Karibee Rice Elephant Boyz and Hotel Tower Cavaliers, who will be led by Gajanand Singh.

West Indies “A” team skipper Veerasammy Permaul would lead the Titans instead of national T20 selectee Rajiv Ivan, as was previously announced, while discarded West Indies leg spinner Devendra Bishoo remains the vice captain of the team.

Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets first division captain Shawn Pereira would lead the Berbice Karibee Rice Elephant Boyz and he will have as his deputy, discarded national fast bowler Keon Joseph who bowled impressively in the semifinals of the yet to be completed Universal DVD and Solutions T20 championships.

The Georgetown based Hits and Jams team would be led by former Guyana T20 wicketkeeper/batsman Tyrell Tull with the pugnacious opener Robin Bacchus as his deputy, while Andrew Lyght, Trevon Griffith and discarded West Indies T20 all rounder Christopher Barnwell is named in the squad.

Funds raised from the match would be used for charity and cricket development in Berbice and the full teams are Berbice Titans: – Richard Ramdeen, Joemal La Fleur, Khemraj Mahadeo, Keon De Jesus, Jonathan Foo, Rajiv Ivan, Delbert Hicks, Devendra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul, Michael Newland, Brendon Bess, Sewnarine Chattergoon and Stephen Latcha.
