Newest ice cream shop brings Bruster’s to Guyanese

GUYANESE can now enjoy delicious Bruster’s Real Ice Cream in more than 200 flavours including, sugar-free flavours and waffle cones, made from fresh fruits.
The newest ice cream shop opened its doors officially on Saturday to the public in which they got a fantastic response with lots of children in tow, who got free face painting and samples of ice cream.
A media and dignitary reception was held last Friday, prior to Saturday’s official opening, where invitees got the opportunity to get a first hand sample of delicious and flavourful ice cream, as well as a tour of the spanking new ice cream place at Lot 32-33 Regent and Hincks Street, Georgetown.
Speaking at the reception was Store Manager, Melissa Piggott, who said that for the week she has been at the location, preparing for the opening, it has been a good experience for her.
Head of Operations – Bruster’s (USA) Mr. Todd Bilovus, stated that the city location here in Guyana is the first international branch and they offer quality service with the best ingredients coupled with excellent customer service.
Meanwhile, Regional Sales Manager, Bruster’s (USA) Ms. Marcie Chong said that at Bruster’s they place great emphasis on employees, customer’s satisfaction and their products as such they offer an excellent service.
However, Director – W&T George Group of Companies, Mr. Asafa George said that he is heartened with Bruster’s opening and they are here to build bridges in the community in which, they will foster relationships in expanding the business to other locations but for now they have two mobile outlets.
Giving a brief background, Mr. George told the gathering that it’s a family business and they were first into ice cream and breads and in the 1970’s at the same location they had an ice cream shop, which makes the upcoming opening of Bruster’s a signature event.
He noted that they use only the best products and the pricing was a challenge of which they managed to overcome to make it affordable for the Guyanese customers since Bruster’s ice cream is premium overseas especially their waffle ice cream cones and ice cream cakes.
Mr. George added that for diabetic customers they have non-diary and sugar-free flavours of ice creams also.
