THE newly elected executives of the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) will meet this Saturday at the Dorcus Club in Plaisance, to hold a special technical planning meeting for the various tournaments they intend to run off for the remainder of the 2012 football season.
EDFA president Rudolph Callender said all the technical staff members, including all divisions from clubs affiliated to the Association, have been invited to the meeting.
He noted that the EDFA will be operating under the guidelines of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and will seek to implement The Georgetown declaration which was signed by members of the GFF and the association representatives.
He said his association intends to be a pilot one implementing the new measures in football and will see new format, requirement and structure to develop local football.
Callender indicated that outside the affiliated clubs interested persons who feel to contribute in whatever area of expertise, are also invited to attend the meeting which commences at 10:00hrs.
The following day, the EDFA will host a reporting session to all affiliates of the association on the new developments, while the appointments for the positions of Public Relations and Marketing Officers will be known.
The EDFA has commenced their activities on a high note, winning the GFF Inter-Association Under-16 tournament against Berbice last Saturday at the GFC ground on penalty kicks after a scoreless result at the end of regulation time.
