The Guyanese President will be engaging officials of the State Department in Washington D.C. on further collaboration between the Governments of Guyana and the U.S., regarding issues of security and economics.
Luncheon mentioned the expanding Caribbean Basin Security Initiative that has resulted in more programmes by the American Administration, subsequent to the Summit of the Americas last held in Trinidad.
He said President Ramotar will also be holding discussion on investment and protection of investments, among other areas.
Additionally, he will be discussing political issues, as Guyana continues to be a very important player in the geopolitics of South America, particularly the CARICOM Region, where there are some matters of great interest to both Guyana and the U.S., the HPS informed.
